MyCove expands on Exolet’s Windows and Mac desktop-app approach with a dedicated environment for selected websites and services. The initiative is designed around an extension-free built-in browser, configured access, and clearer boundaries for everyday interactions. The aim is to help residents use useful services with a more understandable place to start.

What does MyCove add to the desktop TV experience?

It brings Exolet TV, community access, and selected browser-based services into an installed desktop environment. The initiative extends the app into a place for multiple supported websites, with settings for navigation, files, and device permissions. Installation on Windows or Mac is required to use that environment.

What does extension-free mean?

The built-in browsing experience is designed to operate without third-party browser extensions. That removes the need to add extension permissions inside that environment. It does not make every website trustworthy or remove risks from the underlying device. Websites, connected accounts, app components, and the operating system still need appropriate protection.

Can communities keep their existing engagement platform?

Yes. Exolet offers its own engagement tools and is also happy to integrate Exolet TV with other engagement platforms. The approach is platform-agnostic: communities can keep systems that work for them and discuss compatible connections to TV. Each integration needs review of interfaces, permissions, and scope; a particular website is not automatically compatible just because it opens in a browser.

How are the available websites chosen?

Start with the resident’s needs, then review the services and settings that support them. Different sites may need different sign-in, navigation, download, camera, or microphone permissions. The published MyCove overview describes family-assisted setup and settings suited to the person and community deployment.

What role do residents play in the process?

Exolet’s focus-group work covers its TV platform, supporting engagement platforms, and smartphone apps. The company reports that some participating residents bring substantial Silicon Valley and technology-sector experience. That is a useful source of product feedback alongside the experiences of residents with other backgrounds; it is not a substitute for technical security testing.

Does MyCove protect every activity on the computer?

Its controlled environment applies within the installed app. Other browsers and programs keep their own behavior and settings. Whole-device management is a separate matter. MyCove is not antivirus software and cannot guarantee protection if the computer is compromised. Keeping the device maintained and knowing whom to ask for help remain important.

How can a community or family explore it?

Exolet’s published offering includes a MyCove subscription with Digital Village for communities at no extra charge, with the desktop package installed to use the environment. Family options are also described. Ask Exolet about current availability, supported services, installation, and the configuration appropriate to the intended resident.
