The First 60 Days of Community TV

A practical rollout plan for senior living, 55+ communities and luxury high-rises: prepare devices, welcome residents and evaluate usefulness.

A successful launch gives residents something useful to do on their own screens. Choose a few tasks—find today’s building information, explore entertainment, view a nearby menu—and make those tasks easy before expanding the content library.

Days 1–7: establish the building channel

Name a building lead and a backup, agree the first content set and inventory common-area displays. Invite residents to identify their device platform and model when arranging installation help. Use Exolet’s official app and compatibility information; owning a smart TV does not by itself identify its operating system or supported apps.

The objective is building-wide availability on supported resident devices, not simply a screen in the lobby. Plan how every household will hear about the channel and obtain help. Residents remain free to choose whether and how they use it. A personal device inventory should be limited to information needed for support.

Days 8–14: test real tasks on real devices

Prepare a personalized hands-on demo with the building’s splash page and sample data. Test on the compatible PC, Mac and TV platforms relevant to your residents. Check reading distance, remote navigation, returning to the starting screen and installation instructions. Record the exact platform when a problem occurs.

Use a small volunteer group with different levels of confidence. Ask people to complete a task without coaching first, then offer help. Write down where they hesitate. This is more useful than asking only whether the screen looks attractive.

Days 15–30: introduce choice

Show residents how to find building information and open nearby businesses on demand. Explain that selecting a restaurant for Ambient View is optional. Demonstrate how current business information becomes part of their personal slide rotation while music plays. Do not describe a connected business as a mandatory advertising placement.

For senior living and 55+ communities, arrange patient installation assistance and a plain-language quick-start sheet. For high-rises, offer clear installation instructions through established resident communication channels. These are rollout recommendations; the underlying Exolet service is operational today.

Days 31–45: connect the neighborhood

Start with businesses residents can conveniently reach. Verify the walking route rather than relying only on a radius on a map. Add a restaurant menu, a fitness schedule or other practical information, and test a real update from its source through to the resident-facing content.

Keep a named contact for each business. Agree how cancellations, holiday hours and expired offers will be handled. Build enough reliable content to be useful before increasing the number of participants.

Days 46–60: evaluate and improve

Repeat the original tasks, review support questions and inspect content freshness. Use the scorecard below to identify what needs work. A manual task review is sufficient; these suggestions do not imply any particular analytics dashboard or tracking feature.

Exolet offers a risk-free 60-day building trial for qualified prospects only. This rollout schedule is a planning example, not the trial agreement. Contact Exolet to discuss qualification and trial terms. Agree your evaluation criteria at the beginning so the review measures the outcomes your building actually wants.
